It was previously promoted by some unethical travel agents as the highest mountain in South East Asia which was false. It has been corrected since then.
For adventurous vacation, you can also try White River Rafting at Sungai Padas (Padas River). This river can only be accessible by a train at Beaufort. The river is situated on the South Western part of Kota Kinabalu. This river rafting is class 3-4, therefore you will definitely experience the adrenaline rush at some part of the 9km of the river. One thing that you have to be aware is that Only 16 years old and above allowed to raft at Padas River.

The entire area of TAR National Park is about 4,929 hectares. The islands are easily accessible because you will only need about 20 minutes boat ride to get to any of the islands. But still, you will be able to get there by riding on a ferry from the mainland.
